Two men arrested as four found dead in Bradford

As they look into the Bradford house fire that claimed the lives of a mother and her three children, detectives have detained two more men.

Many warrants were executed in the Keighley area during the course of the night in connection with the Wednesday, August 21, murder investigation on Westbury Road.

While her three children, Denisty Birtle, age nine, Oscar Birtle, age five, and 22-month-old Aubree Birtle, died in the hospital, Bryonie Gawith, age 29, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, ages 36 and 45, were taken into police custody after being suspected of killing someone.

Numerous addresses on Carlby Grove, Carlton Street, Malsis Road, and Minnie Street are still under search.

A 39-year-old man is still in critical condition at the hospital after being taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of murder on Wednesday.

The Homicide and Major Enquiry team’s Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson stated: “This is still very much a live and active investigation, with extensive enquiries continuing to this day.

“The family is still receiving assistance from specialist officers. We would like to request that their privacy be respected as they are understandably devastated by their loss.

“We are eager to speak with anyone who may have any information to come forward, and we are continuing to appeal for any information related to the fire.”
