Two men charged after 18, died in fatal Bradford crash

Following a deadly collision in a Bradford town, two men have been charged with causing death by unsafe driving.

Following the crash in Baildon Road, Baildon on January 3, 2023, Jordan Spalding, 23, of Wharncliffe Crescent, and Shakeel Ahmed, 28, of Moresby Road, have been accused. Amber Deakin, a young mother, was killed in the collision at the age of 18.

In October, the two will face before Bradford Magistrates Court. “Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Baildon last year have charged two men,” a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police stated.

“Jordan Spalding 23 of Wharncliffe Crescent and Shakeel Ahmed 28, of Moresby Road, have been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after the road traffic collision on Baildon Road on 3 January 2023.

“18 year old Amber Deakin died in the collision.

“Spalding and Ahmed have been bailed to appear at Bradford Magistrates Court on 8 October 2024. ”

Amber was one of six occupants in the silver Vauxhall Vectra when it crashed and overturned, according to reports at the time. After the collision, West Yorkshire Police submitted themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Prior to this, Courtney Johnson, Amber’s closest friend, called the mother “beautiful angel” to Junior. When Amber passed away, Junior was just 16 months old.

Courtney expressed her gratitude to her friend by saying, “I’m so sorry this occurred to you.
