Brighton claims around ‘difficult’ player dismissed, winning fans at new club

Antef Tsoungui, a defender for Feyenoord, is demonstrating that the claims that he was a problematic player at Brighton were “nonsense.

That’s according to Voetbal Zone, who have been praising the player today, which cited Kein Geloel, a Feyenoord podcast.

Tsoungui ended his five-year tenure with the Seagulls when he joined the Dutch team earlier this year on a free transfer from BrightonDespite Brighton’s commitment to promoting young players into the first team, he only ever made one appearance for the first team since joining them in 2018 from Chelsea’s youth system

Rather, in January of this year, he was loaned to Lommel SK, returned from that loan in March, and was ultimately released on a free transfer in July.
With 11 appearances, a goal, and an assist in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, he has established himself as a vital player and is currently on loan at FC Dordrecht.

Feyenoord, who appear to be very optimistic about the 20-year-old‘s future and unconvinced by rumours that had followed him from his time at Brighton, have taken note of that.

Please, let’s try not to bring him up too much. If not, we’ll lose him quickly,” they exclaimed

“He has the ability to take action. He was called a difficult boy at Brighton. That is, in my opinion, an absurd label. What makes it challenging? It’s nice that I like boys who have some independence.

“If he keeps saying this, I’m worried that we won’t have him around for winter break. To Feyenoord or to another club in the Eredivisie.
