Bristol City boss discusses bringing Burnley man back on a permanent deal after loan spell

Bristol City boss Liam Manning has admitted he’d love to work with Burnley’s Scott Twine for a more sustained period of time.
The attacking midfielder has played for the Championship team throughout the second half of the season, totaling nine appearances.

Despite an injury-plagued stint, Manning claims he has seen enough.
Although Manning acknowledges that he has no control over the choice, he would love to see Twine return to Bristol City permanently.
In the end, he is not our player, so it’s difficult, he said to the Bristol Post.
It’s one of those things where I have to have the conversations in order to understand how it looks and whether it’s feasible.

There are a lot of possibilities that Burnley might decide not to do it. Right now, I’m not sure.

“I’d adore collaborating with him. Though there are a lot of obstacles along the way, I believe he suits the club and player profile we have.

“He has been fantastic for me. I believe he is capable of more, that he is beginning to demonstrate, and that he is a good fit for our goals.”

Twine, whose Turf Moor contract expires in 2026, played the first half of the season on loan at Hull City.

He scored four goals in 26 games with the Tigers.

The former MK Dons player, who moved to Turf Moor in 2022 for a £4 million sum, scored three goals in eighteen appearances while Burnley won the Championship.
