Bristol City has something to smile about heading for the weekend.

For their Championship matchup at Ashton Gate on Saturday against struggling Huddersfield Town, Bristol City will be missing a number of important players.

This season, the Robins have been without players for extended periods of time, including Rob Atinkson, Kal Naismith, Ayman Benarous, and Sam Bell, who is sidelined for the entire campaign due to a hamstring injury.

Rob Dickie, Atkinson, and Naismith are all expected to miss the game, leaving City especially thin on defence.

Zak Vyner is now the only senior center-back for City, with Jamie Knight-Lebel, a young player, being Liam Manning’s only other viable option.

The midfield spots are open to selection for the Robins, who have plenty of players in this position with Matty James, Joe Williams, Jason Knight, and Andy King.

Due to a minor injury, Taylor Gardner-Hickman has missed City’s last four games. Since there isn’t much to gain from throwing him back into the action against the Terriers, he may be rested.

The visiting team will also be lacking a number of players.

Long-term injuries will prevent John Ruffels, Radinio Balker, Yuta Nakayama, and Jonathan Hogg from playing, and Kian Harratt is serving a suspension for breaking FA betting regulations.

Bojan Radulovic, Tom Lees, and Jack Rudoni have all been sidelined recently, but they might play at Ashton Gate.

As they fight to stay in the division the following season, Town will be itching to gain some insight from the game.

With four games left, the visitors are currently tied for 22nd place with Sheffield Wednesday, one spot above the relegation zone.

Here is a comprehensive summary of all the most recent injury updates prior to the game.
