Bristol City could make progress today in their attempt to sign Burnley forward Scott Twine, as per Baz Cooper.
Bristol City sit 14th in the Championship, but they could be set to add a strong player to their ranks. Liam Manning’s side look set for a mid-table Championship finish this year with inconsistency a bit too present for the Robins to mount a serious top six push.
Twine, 24, is presently on loan at Hull City. With 25 second-tier appearances this season, the adaptable forward has contributed seven goals, but he may be on the move.
According to Hull City reporter Cooper, Twine may switch to Bristol City this month, and Bristol City is “pushing hard” for a deal. As a result, there might be movement today.
Twine moved to Burnley from MK Dons in 2022, but he had trouble making an impact during the team’s championship-winning season the previous year.
This season, going on loan was unquestionably the wise move, and it appears he could be moving again.
The 24-year-old has demonstrated with continuous Championship playing time, he is a highly useful commodity to have for any side in the second tier, but as things stand with Burnley in the Premier League, it doesn’t look as if he has much of a future there.
He would be able to get a good amount of senior minutes from Bristol City, and adding Twine will help the Robins advance in the standings and earn them a few more points this season.
Bristol City’s next match is an FA Cup third-round replay against West Ham, which takes place tomorrow night.
