Bristol City stance on signing 23-year-old

Last season, City defeated Plymouth twice: once at Ashton Gate, 4-1, and again at Home Park, 1-0, thanks to a goal from Nahki Wells in the second half that forced the team to fire Foster.

The centre back shared a picture of himself on social media after being sighted at Bristol City’s training facility recently. But he’s not a prospective signing at Ashton Gate; he was just there to see his brother, Khalifa, a scout for the Championship team.

The 23-year-old Cisse’s contract with Schalke runs through the summer of 2026. His current team, which plays in the Bundesliga.2, placed a dismal 10th in the previous campaign.

He’s not on the Robins’ radar for the impending transfer window, according to BristolLive. Under the direction of Liam Manning, the former manager of Oxford United and MK Dons, they are getting ready for their first full campaign.

In order to fight at the top of the division, Bristol City will have the opportunity to add additional players to their roster over the coming months.

Since moving to the Veltins-Arena, he has made five appearances for their first team, primarily as a reserve.

The Frenchman moved to Belgium in 2019 to join Gent after beginning his career in the development setups at FC Drouais and LB Châteauroux.

Before moving to Germany, Cisse continued to play for the Belgian Pro League team, making three appearances.

After his Instagram story showed that he was at Bristol City’s training field, supporters of the club might have believed he was a possible target. He isn’t, however, thought to be on their shortlist right now.

What next for Bristol City?

Earlier this month, the Robins revealed their retained list, confirming the release of Matty James, Andy King, and Andreas Weimann. The latter was recently away at West Brom on loan.

Joe Williams, a midfielder, is currently having conversations about his future.

Manning will be trying to add some more players to his team. Although his team only lost once in their previous eight games, they ultimately finished in 11th place and were 11 points outside of the playoffs.
