Bristol Rovers Forward Completes Switch

Harvey Greenslade, a departing Bristol Rovers attacker, has signed on a free transfer with National League newcomers Yeovil Town, according to a statement on the club’s website.

The 20-year-old concluded the 2023/24 season with then-National League side Oxford City, but after his first experience in the fifth tier, he has signed a two-year contract with Yeovil Town.

The attacker began the 2023/24 season on loan with Truro City of the National League South, where he scored four goals in 19 league games. However, in January, his loan was dissolved, allowing him to join Oxford City on loan.

Greenslade made 16 National League appearances for Oxford, scoring three goals, before being released by Bristol Rovers at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Since Greenslade turned professional, he has been loaned out to several different Non-League sides including Truro City (twice) and Chelmsford City which has helped him to earn valuable first-team minutes but stopped him from settling in one particular place.

Being able spend the next two years with Yeovil Town, including a full season in the National League will be further beneficial for his development because it will allow him to familiarise himself with competing against better players, which is likely to teach him lessons to make him a better footballer.

Greenslade’s arrival marks Yeovil’s first transfer since winning the National League South last season, and it adds to the club’s depth and talent in the final third.

Given that the vast majority of National League acquisitions are loans or free transfers, Greenslade represents a low-risk, high-reward transfer if he can get started right away.

Last season, both six-tier champions (AFC Fylde and Ebbsfleet United) clinched their safety in the National League but also made sure to improve their attacking qualities and with Greenslade having scored goals in the fifth tier last season, all parties will be hopeful that he can kick on again next season.
