Bristol Rovers are currently in the hunt for a new permanent boss following their decision to part company with Joey Barton earlier this month.
Following his resignation from Leeds United as assistant manager at the end of the last campaign, 43-year-old Robinson has been linked to the open League One post.
But according to the most recent update on X from Sunday Mirror writer Witcoop, the man from Merseyside and Neil Lennon are “no longer in the picture.”
With Andy Mangan still serving as interim manager, Bristol Rovers must make a significant choice over their next addition.
Robinson, an accomplished third-tier coach, was a good choice for the Gas.
Prior to joining MK Dons in 2010, he was employed by Blackburn Rovers. He later spent six years with the Buckinghamshire team.
The former non-league striker helped the Dons win promotion to the Championship in 2015 and was a big hit with them.
A year later, Robinson departed from Stadium.mk and went on to play for Charlton Athletic and Oxford United.
He then replaced Robbie Keane as Leeds’ number two for the remaining four games of Sam Allardyce’s previous Premier League season.
In an attempt to escape being demoted from the Premier League, the Whites made one more attempt at staying up, and Robinson eventually departed Yorkshire.
Since then, he has been associated with several positions; however, since Bristol Rovers is no longer a possibility, he is carefully considering his future course of action.
