Cyclist dead after collision with lorry in Brixton very sad

Yesterday afternoon, a biker in his 60s lost his life in an accident with a lorry in Brixton.

When a cyclist and a truck collided at Mervan Road near the intersection with Effra Road at approximately 4:15 p.m., London Ambulance Service (LAS) paramedics notified the police.

 

The London Fire Brigade and officers responded, and Effra Road was blocked down in both directions.

 

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, members of our Tactical Response Unit, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance,” a representative for the London Ambulance Service stated.

“A man was treated at the scene by our first crew, which arrived in four minutes.”

The rider passed away at the spot despite the efforts of emergency personnel.

According to authorities, his next of kin have been notified.

 

The truck’s driver pulled over and is helping the police with their investigation.

 

In addition to warning drivers to stay away from the area, witnesses or anyone with dashcam evidence of the collision are encouraged to contact police at 101.
