Bromley government agent caught assaulting woman

A female victim of sexual assault has been admitted by a Metropolitan Police officer who is currently on duty.

On July 12, at Croydon Magistrates’ Court, Detective Constable Jose Poonsawat of the Central South Command Unit entered a guilty plea.

On August 23, he is scheduled to be sentenced after being freed on court-issued bail.

While Poonsawat was off-duty in December 2022, an incident occurred where he inappropriately touched a woman.

Officers from Bromley and the Met’s Domestic Abuse and Sexual Offences unit looked into him.

With the conclusion of the criminal proceedings, the misconduct process will now begin.

Lambeth and Southwark police chief Commander Seb Adjei-Addoh stated: “My thoughts are with the victim who has shown courage in reporting this sexual assault.”

“It is appropriate for the courts to hold officers accountable for misconduct.

“In this case, DC Poonsawat has pleaded guilty and now awaits sentencing.”
