Burnley boss Vincent Kompany comments on watching from the stands during Arsenal defeat’

Vincent Kompany admits he regrets not being able to be with his Burnley team during a challenging afternoon against Arsenal.

The Clarets boss had to watch on from the terraces as his side were thrashed 5-0 by the Gunners on Saturday.

Kompany was banned from the touchline after picking up his third booking of the season during last week’s defeat to Liverpool.

In his stead, Craig Bellamy manned the dugout, while Eliot Tybebo, the set-piece coach, was also in contact with the fourth official.
Kompany regrets not being able to support his squad since he didn’t appreciate watching from the stands.

When questioned about his experience from the stands, Kompany said to Sky Sports, “It was awful! Absurd.

“I always want to be there for the players, especially during difficult moments. Even on a bad day, I’d rather be there with the team.

“We believed we could turn the corner and that we were moving in the right direction. We will face doubts from others, but it’s crucial that we keep on course and prepare for the next match.

The following week, when Burnley travels to Selhurst Park to play Crystal Palace, Kompany will be back in the dugout.

With Roy Hodgson’s future still up in the air, it is unclear who his counterpart will be.

Oliver Glasner, an Austrian, appears to be in the running to replace him, but Hodgson was sent to the hospital last week after becoming unwell during a training session.

The club hasn’t made any official announcement as of yet.
