Burnley make move for £15M striker after Everton and Wolves failed with bids:

Burnley are looking to add an experienced Premier League forward to their ranks with Vincent Kompany eyeing up a January deal for Southampton striker Che Adams.

While hardly the most prolific of marksmen, Che Adams would give Burnley something their current squad appears to be lacking. Averaging fewer than a goal a game since returning to the Premier League, the Scotland international could prove to be an upgrade on the attackers currently at Kompany’s disposal, with his contract situation potentially forcing Southampton into a January sale (TEAMtalk).

Adams will be a free agent in the summer of 2024.

“I think there was a lot of interest over the summer,” Adams reflects. “But nothing got over the line.

“It was actually a relief when the window closed because everything was over, and it meant me and my family were more settled. My focus is fully here. From the minute the window closed to up until we get promoted – hopefully – I am fully concentrated on Southampton.”

With January just a fortnight away, however, Adams has another few weeks of speculation lying ahead of him. The one-time Sheffield United forward, who has scored 25 Premier League goals in his top-flight career,

According to The Sun, there is also interest from Burnley for Marseille midfielder Pape Gueye. The former Sevilla loanee, who once agreed a move to Watford before the agreement was torn up, is out of favour under L’OM boss Gennaro Gattuso and will be allowed to leave in the winter for around £15 million.
