Burnley have suffered an injury blow with the news that winger Nathan Redmond will miss the rest of the season, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
The winger made the move to Turf Moor in the summer after his spell at Turkish giants Besiktas came to an end.
Redmond suffered a torn hamstring recently and needed to go under the knife to fix it, an operation he had on Tuesday.
Undergoing surgery means that Redmond will now need the remainder of the campaign to recover and his season is over.
Despite Redmond not being a starter under Vincent Kompany, losing him is a blow to the Belgian.
Kompany will now not be able to call upon the experienced winger and his squad depth will suffer.
Burnley could decide that they need to dip into the transfer market due to the injury blow.
Redmond clocked 12 outings in the Premier League for Burnley before suffering his injury.
