Fans reaction after statement: City Council passes Republic stadium term sheet unanimously

Sacramento, California The construction of Republic Stadium in The Railyards achieved a new, unprecedented milestone earlier today. A term sheet with a number of ideas to expedite the construction of a stadium dedicated to football was overwhelmingly approved by the Sacramento City Council. Republic FC is now one step closer to purchasing the stadium site from the existing landowners as a result of tonight’s action.

After tonight’s unanimous vote, President and General Manager Todd Dunivant issued a statement.

“On behalf of the entire team and its supporters, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mayor Darrell Steinberg and the entire City Council for their support, as well as to Howard Chan and his team for their hard work. Todd Dunivant, president and

general manager of Republic FC, stated, “Tonight’s vote is yet another significant milestone in solidifying our new home.” “We can’t wait to get started on creating a new neighbourhood for the Indomitable City.”

The club plans to embark on a rigorous building schedule in early 2025, with an anticipated opening date of 2027. Republic FC will reveal building partners, design details, and details on how supporters may reserve a priority spot at Republic Stadium in the upcoming months.
