Man dies after crash on Cambridge road

The man died in hospital the morning after the crash

Following a collision on the A428 in Cambridgeshire, a man has died. In the vicinity of Eltisley, the man in his 60s was operating a Vauxhall Vivaro van.

He was engaged in an accident on Monday, August 12, at approximately 4:50 p.m. with a Ford Laika and an HGV. After being brought to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, he passed away early on Tuesday, August 13.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police stated: “No other injuries were reported, and the road was blocked. The 53-year-old Doncaster man who was operating the HGV is being held on suspicion of killing someone by reckless driving. He is still being held.

“Anyone with information should contact police via Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s website using reference 35/59164/24. Anyone without internet access should call 101 and ask to speak to a member of the Road Policing Unit.”
