Birmingham City, Cardiff City and Watford transfer target told he can leave
Cardiff City Watford were heavily linked to a summer transfer to Blues. The national press stated that Birmingham had a price agreement, but he ultimately chose to play for UD Las Palmas.
Kaba was signed by the La Liga team from FC Midtjylland in Denmark for an estimated sum of more than €2 million. The striker has only scored once in 17 league games since moving to Spain, so things haven’t gone as expected.
As a result, Kaba has been informed that he can depart either permanently or on loan, according to the Spanish news source Canarias 7. Given that Kaba is only one year into a four-year contract, Las Palmas will be looking to recover a portion of the money they spent for him in the summer.
The 21-year-old Guinean international has played in England before, having spent 2022–2023 on loan at Cardiff City. He helped the Bluebirds survive by scoring eight goals in 17 games.
There is nothing concrete to suggest that Birmingham could go back in for Kaba with Chris Davies potentially having his own ideas on a transfer shortlist. Craig Gardner will play a key role as technical director though and Kaba might be a player of interest.
This week, Birmingham was connected to a bold attempt to acquire Bojan Miovski of Aberdeen. Alan Nixon reported that Bologna and Feyenoord were also interested in the Macedonian forward, and that Birmingham was prepared to pay £7 million to acquire him.
In addition to being a sensible choice to lead the front line the following season, Kaba would be a more affordable alternative for Miovski. Birmingham wants to strengthen their attack for the upcoming campaign, therefore they’re trying to lock down Lukas Jutkiewicz to a new deal.
