Mark Beck, a former striker for Carlisle United, is back on the non-league scene.
In the National League North, he has joined Scunthorpe United.
The large forward has permanently left Solihull Moors to join the Iron.
After finishing his stint in the northeast, Beck, who was previously on loan at Gateshead, is now moving to north Lincolnshire.
Scunthorpe reunites with the 30-year-old former United junior team player in time for his FA Trophy debut this weekend against Warrington Rylands.
In addition, he will want to score goals to help Scunthorpe advance. Under manager Andy Butler, the Iron are presently ranked sixth in the non-league second division.
Sam Fishburn, a fellow former Carlisle striker who joined the Iron in the summer, will be one of his teammates.
When announcing Beck’s presence, Scunthorpe stated that they had been “tracking, watching, and pursuing him” for “a number of weeks.”
Beck posted on X, “Happy to join @SUFCOfficial, can’t wait to get going.”
The towering center-forward made 77 first-team appearances and scored ten goals during his time at United in Eric Kinder’s development team.
He had stints at Darlington, Harrogate Town, and Solihull Moors following loan stints with Workington Reds, Falkirk, Yeovil Town, and Wrexham.
In the FA Trophy final loss to Gateshead last season, Beck scored twice at Wembley. At the beginning of the current season, he signed a loan agreement with the Heed that would remain until January.
He ended his 14-game stint with Gateshead, which ended with one goal, to join Scunny.
