Blues Debacle, How far gone; Interesting fact in it.

This week’s crucial matchup against an undefeated Greater Western Sydney will see up to 14 players missing for CARLTON, with All-Australian defender Adam Saad leading the list of injured players due to a hamstring.

While Mitch McGovern and Adam Cerra are both likely to return within the next two weeks due to minor hamstring issues, Saad is expected to miss the next six weeks due to a medium-grade problem.

Saad will no longer be part of the 4-1 Blues’ arduous schedule of forthcoming games, which also includes matches against Geelong, Collingwood, Melbourne, Sydney, and the Giants, who are currently atop the ladder.

Due to a hamstring injury sustained during the game, Saad was substituted out of last week’s shocking loss to the previously unbeaten Crows. McGovern also left the game late, and Cerra was left out prior to the bounce.

Although Caleb Marchbank had been mentioned as a possible McGovern replacement, he will also miss time due to back tightness after suffering a concussion two weeks prior.

Another player who has experienced a setback in his recuperation is Jesse Motlop, the small forward who is now anticipated to miss at least the next month due to a second hamstring injury he sustained during training.

The three forwards David Cuningham (calf), Lachie Fogarty (wrist), and Jack Martin (hamstring) were already ruled out of Saturday’s Marvel Stadium match against Adam Kingsley’s team.

On an injury list that already featured long-term absences Matt Carroll (groyne), Sam Docherty (knee), Alex Mirkov (conditioning), and Jack Silvagni (knee), Dom Akuei (concussion), and Billy Wilson (concussion) have also been added.
