Castleford Tigers has Finalizes the new coaching team Contract..

The Castleford Tigers have confirmed that the announcement of their new coaching staff is scheduled for Tuesday night. As of right now, all the ts and i’s have been crossed.

This season, Danny Ward led the team back to Super League survival and looked primed to take over the role permanently.

However, Ward is said to have rejected the Tigers’ contract offer since it fell short of his expectations. Ward also seemed to be at odds with the club’s management on the 2024 roster when questioned by Love Rugby League last month, just before their season-ending match.

Director Danny Wilson stated that the release of players such as Greg Eden and Suaia Matagi is intended to “bring the age profile of the squad down.” However, Ward said that as long as a player performed the tasks assigned to them, it didn’t matter how old they were.

With Danny McGuire joining from Hull KR as his number two, it is expected that current assistant Craig Lingard, whose time with the Batley Bulldogs is now ended, will take the lead.

Earlier today, the legendary Leeds Rhinos player—who holds the record for most Super League tries scored—had his departure from Craven Park officially announced.

Castleford Tigers have confirmed the date of the new coaching team announcement.
This season, Cas has fired three head coaches: Andy Last, who is currently back playing with the Catalans Dragons, was fired in August, and Lee Radford was fired in March.

“The club would like to address the situation regarding the appointment of coaching staff for the 2024 season,” the Fords said in a brief statement released this evening.

“Castleford Tigers can confirm that contracts are currently being finalised with our coaching staff, and we have agreed terms for the 2024 season.”

“We acknowledge that the fans are not happy about the announcement’s delay, but we can reassure them that all unfinished business will be completed by Tuesday morning, with plans to reveal the 2024 coaching staff that evening.

“We would like to thank the fans once more for their patience and for their continued support.”
