Celtic Park’s Kerrydale Suite played host to another wonderful Celtic FC Foundation Annual Sporting Dinner on Thursday night, as a magnificent net total in the region of £120,000 was raised.
With almost 470 guests in attendance, the event—sponsored for the fourth year in a row by David McDonald Financial Services—was packed, and as usual, there was amazing support for our Live Auction, Silent Auction, and Prize Draw.
Additionally, the Club’s men’s and women’s teams once again supported our efforts, giving guests the opportunity to ask questions of Celtic men’s and women’s team managers Brendan Rodgers and Elena Sadiku, as well as first-team players Adam Idah, Luke McCowan, Saoirse Noonan, and Abi Harrison.
Two Celtic legends, John Hartson and Paul Elliott, also spoke to us. They dazzled the audience with stories from their playing days with Celtic and beyond.

The Paradise Pit Stop project will be the primary recipient of the money raised by the Sporting Dinner.
As a result of this important initiative, Celtic Park is now open Monday through Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. We provide a complimentary hot lunch and a variety of hot and soft drinks in our lounge.
Last night, Liam Kenny, who has participated in several Foundation projects, including Paradise Pit Stop, joined us with great pleasure.
Liam shared his heartwarming and motivational story, emphasising the importance of the Foundation’s assistance to him and his young family.
“Once again, the Sporting Dinner has been a massive success, with a truly incredible level of generosity shown by everyone in attendance,” remarked Tony Hamilton, Chief Executive of the Celtic FC Foundation, following the event.
“As we continue to provide a variety of projects to assist those who are most in need, the money generated last night will be quite important. For many people in our neighbourhood, Paradise Pit Stop has turned into a true lifeline.
“I would want to sincerely thank everyone who helped make this event a major success once again, including Brendan Rodgers, Elena Sadiku, David McDonald Financial Services, and the men’s and women’s teams. Bell and Bain (who kindly gave the event printed materials), Magners (who generously provided a complimentary drink for all visitors), John Hartson, Paul Elliott, Liam Kenny, our Sporting Dinner Committee, and of course,
thanks to all of the attendees for your amazing support.
“The Sporting Dinner is a crucial event in the Foundation’s fundraising calendar and is always a wonderful occasion,” said Michael Nicholson, Chief Executive of Celtic.
