Bad financial outcome for loosing huge on two Keys players…..

We know the importance of player trading, but what’s the point of selling for £30m then losing out on £60m? I’m no accountant but even I can see that is a particularly bad financial outcome and it’s one that must be avoided as all costs. That’s what makes the thought of cashing in on players like Matt and Liel such a bad idea. It would indeed be shooting ourselves very much in the foot.

Consider this: if we offload two key players at this point in the window, we won’t only have a chance to replace them, but we’d also be weakening Brendan’s team and encouraging the Rangers, who won their toughest of the two games they had last night, 3-0, at Easter Road. Our lead is now only five points as a result, and they still have their match against St Johnstone at Ibrox to play. There is a lot of competition for this title, and we need to be aware of the risks.

a league victory that ensures immediate admission to the following season’s redesigned Champions League, with a substantially higher monetary reward. The allocation of that £60 million, to Celtic Park or Ibrox, would significantly impact the future landscape of Scottish football. We will essentially overtake them if we win the league. If they win, we’ll be neck and neck again and lose every advantage they had since their previous club was dissolved and their chance to rise to prominence in the lower divisions of the game.

That is why it is even more strange if they intend to profit on two of our most valuable assets. If you hold onto them, their worth will remain unchanged until summertime, and we have a very good chance of winning a sizable payday in Europe’s top competition.

This Celtic board is focused on money, and that’s not a criticism; rather, it’s a reasonable assessment that could even be taken as a praise, given what their supporters have had to endure over the past ten or so years throughout the city.

In addition to gravely endangering our prospects of winning the championship, Celtic will be wasting money if they allow our finest players to depart. Just as season tickets for the upcoming season are about to go on sale, selling the family silver now and then losing the league would cause turmoil and scrutiny from the board.

We want to avoid similar incompetence at our club, so fight the urge to sell our top players during this transfer window because we are all watching. Don’t lose sight of the goal. Speaking the language of the Celtic Board, we are aware that it makes financial sense.
