Barry Ferguson has backed Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic to sign Aberdeen hitman, Bojan Miovski.
The 24-year-old, who has 11 goals in all competitions this season, scored against Rangers on Sunday to help Aberdeen secure a point against the second-placed side – Chris Sutton called out Kris Boyd for his comments before the game.
After Celtic fans watched their team struggle to break down Motherwell from open play on Saturday, there has been a lot of talk about the attacking quality and the lack of quality behind the main guys.
Well, Barry Ferguson believes someone like Bojan Miovski is good enough for a team like Celtic, as he told Go Radio.
South Korean star Hyeongyu Oh, who came on as a half-time substitute at the weekend, seems to be the one in the firing line amid talk about the now-departed, Giorgos Giakoumakis.
It’s not easy playing a back-up role to Kyogo Furuhashi, especially when he isn’t firing because he will still continue to get picked.
Either way, there has been talk about what the club will do in January, in regard to the attacking line, including the wide players, with Barry Ferguson backing Celtic to nab Bojan Miovski.
Bojan Miovski to Celtic
“He has grown on me,” said Ferguson. “I like him. Good movement. It’s a brilliant finish (against Rangers) against a goalkeeper who has hit top form.
“His overall game as well. I wasn’t too sure of him. But he is clearly a goalscorer and they are hard to find.
On Bojan Miovski going to Celtic: “He has shown that he is good enough. 11 goals for an Aberdeen team that has struggled this season. He is definitely an out-and-out goalscorer. Decent link-up play as well. He is also an international.
“Why would you not look at players who are playing in the Premier League? We spoke about the other player, who we mention a lot, Lawrence Shankland. Another goal at the weekend. He is just a natural-born goalscorer.”
January transfer window
Europe hasn’t gone as planned this season. But the team is still sitting top of the pile in the Premiership, and that can’t change.
Win the title again, and not only will it be more bragging rights, but that big pot of gold awaits for next season with the Champions League being reformed.
That’s why it’s crucial that Rodgers is backed in January, with an emphasis on the forward areas – and a new goalkeeper – Chris Sutton was pretty clear on what he thought about Joe Hart from the weekend.
