Celtic agreed to sign long term deal with Rangers player

With Celtic looking to add extra quality to their ranks after their Champions League exit last month, a report claims that Brendan Rodgers is looking to make a record bid for Aberdeen striker, Bojan Miovski.

According to The Scottish Sun, Brendan Rodgers is prepared to surpass the £4.4 million that Celtic paid for Scott Brown in 2007 because he has seen the North Macedonian striker in every Scottish Premiership match this season.

In January, Aberdeen would not have been pleased to sell Miovski, though, as Barry Robson attempts to finish third in the league this year.

Since joining the Pittodrie team last season, Miovski has been on fire, but if Celtic decide to pursue their interest, they will have competition from England.

Barry Ferguson’s remarks regarding Rangers TBR and the Celtic target Miovski has been a player that Celtic has frequently mentioned that Tam McManus and Peter Grant both believe Celtic should pursue.

Curiously, though, Barry Ferguson has also stated that he would prefer to see Miovski at Rangers, having previously declared that the striker from The Dons is talented enough to play for the team at Ibrox.

“He’s demonstrated that he could be competent,” Ferguson remarked. Eleven goals from a struggling Aberdeen team this year.

To be honest, he is unquestionably a goal scorer. He also plays linkups fairly well.

“He’s an international so why would you not look at players who are playing in the [Scottish] Premier League?”

With Celtic being cash-rich and Rangers financial situation not as strong, the Hoops would be in pole position to make a deal possible between the two clubs.

However, would Miovski really be willing to level a club where he is first-choice striker to play second fiddle to Kyogo for most of the season? That is the decision the 24-year-old will have to make if Celtic do come calling.
