Celtic FC on the verge of breaking record sale without star’s replacement

Having heard back from Celtic, the EPL side is said to have submitted a bid worth over £25 million, breaking Celtic’s record sale ofKieran Tierney. [Alan Nixon]

The Seagulls’ offer of more than £25 million shows they’re serious about securing O’Riley’s services, especially in the face of competition from Atalanta and Southampton, both of which have also shown strong interest in the midfielder and submitted bids that are miles away from Celtic’s valuation.

It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few days, and whether or not Matt O’Riley is keen on a move that will see him without any European football this season

The bid could give clubs, like Atalanta and possibly even Chelsea, the boot they needed to submit a serious bid that matches Celtic’s demands.
