Celtic icon signs with new club at age 35 after

After returning from Dubai during the summer, Gary Hooper, a beloved player for Celtic, has finally found a new team.

Just weeks after playing for a Celtic Masters team in Glasgow, the former Hoops and Sheffield Wednesday player has secured a deal with English non-league outfit Barnet.Hooper made it obvious after that appearance that he was eager to find a new permanent club, and Barnet has opted to splash the cash.

Hooper scored 63 goals in 95 games while he was a Celtic player between 2010 and 2013.

Later, he relocated to Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City, where he was also successful in the English Championship.

“Barnet FC is delighted to announce that former Celtic and Norwich City forward Gary Hooper is set to join The Bees,” read a statement from Barnet.

“More information will be released in the upcoming days,” the statement reads. “The deal is subject to international clearance.”

While warning that Brendan Rodgers’ team will pose the toughest challenge, Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri referred to Celtic as the “dark horse” of their Champions League group.

Lazio drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid to open their season, while Celtic fell to Feyenoord 2-0.

Sarri dismissed a predicted question from the Italian media about whether he anticipated a physical match in Scotland because he felt Celtic deserved more for their performance in Rotterdam, which ended with two men being dismissed.

The former Chelsea manager stated: “Celtic are the least physically demanding club in the group, they are a technical side, and they play with great energy. Yes, but not in the other sense; if you mean the most physically demanding game.

“I believe Celtic can be this group’s underdog. Celtic play with remarkable intensity, speed, and mobility, making them a very dangerous team. How well they play technically amazed me.
