Celtic in running to re-sign £200,000-a-week winger

That is according to 90min, which has claimed that Jota could leave his club in the January transfer window.

So, what is being reported about Celtic and Jota? Let’s take a look.

Jota, a winger for Al-Ittihad, may be moving during the January transfer window, according to 90min.

In the summer of 2023, the Portuguese winger left Celtic to join the Saudi Pro League team.

Al-Ittihad paid Celtic £25 million in transfer fees for the winger, and the 24-year-old is being paid £200,000 a week by Al-Ittihad, according to The Scottish Sun.

Jota has participated in the AFC Champions League twice but does not play any domestic games for Al-Ittihad. Celtic is “in the running to re-sign the winger,” according to 90min.

In my opinion, Celtic will not be able to sign Jota in the January transfer window.

Why would Al-Ittihad allow a player they purchased for a cool £25 million to go on loan in January and pay for the majority of his salary at the same time?

In the event that the Saudi Arabian club enters into a loan agreement with any team, they will probably demand payment of Jota’s £200,000 weekly salary.

Personally, I don’t think Jota will desire to return to Celtic. He has, after all, given the Hoops everything he has.

Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, two Premier League teams, are interested in Jota. The winger would probably be more inclined to relocate to England than to go back to Scotland, in my opinion.
