Celtic leading chase to sign “great” target in January

Celtic suffered their first defeat of the 2023/24 Scottish Premiership campaign on Sunday as they were beaten 2-1 by Kilmarnock away from Parkhead.

Again choosing to start forward Kyogo Furuhashi on the bench, Brendan Rodgers’ team did not miss him in the first half as Matt O’Riley’s close-range finish gave the opposition the lead.

But the hosts claimed a historic victory thanks to an own goal from Nat Phillips, who was sliding in across his own six-yard box, and a calm finish from Matthew Kennedy, who sealed all three points.

If Celtic’s opponents win their match, their lead in the Premiership standings could be reduced to just two, and Rodgers may decide to use the January transfer window to give his team the much-needed reinforcement it needs.

The Hoops must make sure they don’t let their lead in the premier league slip if they hope to finish this season with trophies, as they have already been eliminated from both the League Cup and European football.

The centre forward position is one area of the team they are allegedly trying to bolster, as there have been links to several number nine options.

Bojan Miovski and Mathias Kvistgaarden’s transfers to Celtic
The Scottish Sun revealed earlier this month that the Hoops are thinking about trying to sign Aberdeen star Bojan Miovski in January.

According to the outlet, Rodgers has sent scouts to watch the North Macedonia international in every domestic game this season as the club and rival Rangers are reportedly eyeing him.

It was reported that the Dons will demand a Scottish record transfer fee from any interested parties and are unwilling to allow him to leave next month.

This indicates that Miovski would be more expensive than the £4.4 million Hibernian received from Celtic in 2007 for the sale of Scott Brown.

But, as the Hoops are rumoured to be interested in Brondby star Mathias Kvistgaarden, Rodgers may find a fantastic replacement for the 24-year-old wizard.

The talented young marksman is wanted by the Scottish giants, according to Danish outlet Tipsbladet. The Northern Irish manager wants to add more firepower to his squad before the second half of the season.

According to the report, Celtic would have to pay a fee of €10 million (£8.6 million) to acquire his services. It is unclear if they would agree to Brondby’s demands.

Additionally, it was reported that unidentified teams from the Bundesliga, Premier League, and Championship are also considering the 21-year-old prospect.

Even though Miovski is an appealing option for the team, Rodgers could be a fantastic addition to the squad and a dream replacement if he can win the race to sign the impressive talent in January.

Aberdeen’s goal record with Miovski
Given that he has experience playing in the Premiership, the North Macedonia international is undoubtedly a great addition to the Hoops.

During his arrival in Scotland at the beginning of the previous campaign, Miovski has already demonstrated his ability to score goals frequently in the sport.

In his first season with Aberdeen, the left-footed finisher made an impression with 16 goals and 2 assists in 37 Premiership games.

Barry Robinson’s side is Barry Miovski, who has already been moved to the position of centre in the Celtics’ dream team.

Miovski has also left his mark on the European scene this season, as the table above illustrates, turning in strong performances at the Europa Conference League level.

The clinical ace has amassed 30 goals and six assists overall in 67 appearances for the Dons across all competitions, including 52 Premiership games where he has scored 22 goals and provided three assists.
