Celtic ‘leading race’ to sign £8.5m-rated Danish striker:

Celtic are reportedly leading the race to sign £8.5m-rated striker Mathias Kvistgaarden. The Scottish Champions had been linked with the 21-year-old in the summer but nothing transpired; however, Brendan Rodgers’ side are being linked with the striker as the club look to deliver the Irishman with the quality that he craves.

As reported by Danish outlet Tipsbladet, who is rated highly by Brondby, who would demand the sizeable fee to part ways with their talisman.

The report states: “I know from good sources in Scotland that Celtic are back in play’, suggesting that the club have resumed their interest in the player.

“Kvistgaarden is also on the candidate list in the Bundesliga and a little further down the field between the bottom of the Premier League and the Championship as well as in France.”

In 80 appearances for the club, Kvistgaarden has scored 19 goals and assisted on 12 occasions. The Scottish Champions have identified the striking position as one that requires reinforcements in the summer with competition required for Kyogo and Oh, who will both likely be at the Asia Cup, too.

Celtic have been linked with the £4.5m-rated Bojan Miovski. Since joining Aberdeen, Miovski has scored 29 goals and assisted on 6 occasions in 66 appearances. The club are likely collating their options ahead of the January window before a decision is made on how is best to proceed and with who.
