Celtic press conference in full as they interview missing out His number one

The Irishman, who will be without his number one, anticipates a challenging test against Motherwell.

Future-focused thinking, according to Brendan Rodgers, infuses every member of his team, not just Joe Hart, who plays the number one position.

After a strong start to the season was derailed by two losses to in-form St Mirren and Rangers, the Hoops face a Motherwell team desperate to regain their form. After demonstrating their strength versus Livingston last Saturday, Rodgers and his team have had a full week to prepare, but the Irishman is still without important players like Joe Hart, who is suspended, and Cameron Carter-Vickers, who is still on the sidelines.

But Rodgers believes that despite the veteran status of his number one goalie, there is a succession plan in place not just for Hart, but right throughout the heart of the  contingent. The Parkhead gaffer reckons the former Man City stopper is ageless, but that he always has one eye on what comes next for his team.

Not just Joe, the entire squad, he declared. Up until he was expelled, I found it regrettable that you must constantly plan ahead. He produced a fantastic save at 0-0, which is something that is not mentioned. He takes such good care of himself and is in excellent physical condition for someone his age.

Naturally, you constantly think ahead in any position. Whether you’re a goalie, center-half, or center-forward, you’re always looking ahead.
