What a game and what a moment for Hyeongyu Oh, as he took the chance Brendan Rodgers handed to him with both hands during the 4-1 win over Hibernian.
After Celtic’s impressive first-half performance against St Johnstone the previous time out, it appears that Brendan Rodgers was still considering that going into Hibernian’s visit.
Although Kyogo Furuhashi remains Celtic’s primary player, Hyeongyu Oh earned a rare start, and he did not disappoint.
In five minutes, he was up and running, but it took a little fortune. Prior to that, his second goal demonstrated his superiority and what he can do as the line leader.
In response to his Man of the Match performance, Hyeongyu Oh posted on Instagram, saying, “Pay attention to this sound.”
Gustaf Lagerbielke sent his teammate fire emojis in the comments section of the 22-year-old’s post, to which Matt O’Riley replied, “Ma mannnn!”
It is right for Hyeongyu Oh to start against Kilmarnock.
Seeing what adjustments Rodgers makes for the upcoming weekend will be interesting because some players currently deserve to start.
Okay, so Oh is a backup striker on paper. Though some believe another striker should be added when the transfer window reopens, his performance and goals against Hibs should earn him another start.
It’s interesting to note that Rodgers has been urged to play Oh and Kyogo together; perhaps now is the right moment to do so.
Being a backup is difficult because your game lacks rhythm, but you have to give Oh credit for taking a chance in this situation.
