The attacker’s first club, Vida, are claiming cash from Aris where he joined Celts from
Luis Palma’s move from Aris to Celtic is at the centre of a transfer storm over unpaid cash to his first club.
Vida club president Luis Cruz claims the Greek outfit owe funds to their coffers from the sell-on percentage initially agreed in the deal to take Palma from his homeland of Honduras to Greece back in 2022. Palma has impressed at Parkhead with his goals stats and assists since arriving in the summer for just over £4million.
But Cruz is sure that his team is still owed money from Aris’ sale, and he feels they would suffer greatly if they are not paid the £50,000 they believe they are entitled to. And he claims they have no choice but to take the issue to FIFA.
Cruz added, “The original transfer for Luis Palma was for €200,000, and we included a 35 per sell-on fee. However, we did not receive any cash following his sale to Celtic. Celtic paid €4.8 million (£4.1 million) for Luis, as we previously reported.
“When Luis was leaving us, I told him not to go to the Greek team, and I had planned a transfer to a Portuguese club instead, but his agent insisted he go to Aris. They have also failed to pay us the full sum from the first transfer, as well as the sell-on charge, which has caused us significant financial hardship.
“In total, they owe us roughly £50,000 for the original transfer plus the sell-on. We were left with no choice except to take the case to FIFA. We are pleased that Luis has been a huge success at Celtic, but we need this money to keep the club going. To keep a club afloat, we must do this. I had to delay payments.
