Mark Guidi makes exciting £20m Celtic January transfer’

Brendan Rodgers has continually pressed home the need to bring in quality and according to Mark Guidi, he could be about to do just that.

The journalist was discussing how Celtic may financially ‘flash’ Rangers when he stated that the Hoops manager is aiming to invest £20 million on three players.

“The transfer window is absolutely massive,” Guidi stated on [The Go Radio Football Show]. On paper, Celtic now have the financial strength to go crush Rangers.

“Go ahead and blitz them in terms of financial muscle.” However, this is not always the case.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if the club, Brendan Rodgers, brought in three players for around £20 million.”

“That’s what he’s looking to do.”

The Celtic fans will be seriously hoping that is the case. They have watched an all-conquering treble-winning team surrender the League Cup at the start of the season and, if Rangers win their two games in hand, possibly hand over the top spot in the league without so much as a fight.

Celtic’s injury problems have been horrible thus far, but with the players Rodgers has at his disposal, they should be performing much better than they have.

They appear to be in need of a spark. Creativity. Something that has been lacking since Jota’s departure last summer.

Is it likely that Rodgers will get it in January? Doubts have been raised, but the Celtic manager must go into this window and rip up trees, because if he does not, a £60 million Champions League bounty will be distributed around the city, which will be unacceptable in the eyes of Celtic fans.
