Mikel Arteta makes £20m Arsenal transfer decision involving Celtic hero’

Mikel Arteta is said to have made a transfer decision over a Celtic favourite.

Kieran Tierney, the idol of Celtics, is presently on loan in Spain, but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta may send him back this summer.

This season, the left-back has played for Real Sociedad, where he has struggled with injury once more. However, he has shown promise in La Liga when given the opportunity, and this summer will bring another decision. According to reports, Sociedad was not planning to relocate permanently.

According to reports, Arteta has determined that Tierney, who joined Arsenal in 2019 after leaving Celtic, will not be included in his future plans at Emirates. But it’s likely going to cost more than £20 million. David Ornstein, an athletic reporter, stated: “I believe his tenure at Arsenal is coming to an end. I’ve never questioned Tierney’s ability. He’s a great left-back from the old school. However, under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal does not require that.

“Tierney found it difficult to perform the inverted role last season. He lacked the physical characteristics, awareness, and technical proficiency necessary to carry out the task. One could wonder why Arteta would want him to play a part he wasn’t comfortable in and if the Spaniard should have adjusted the game plan a little to make room for him to replace Olexsandr Zinchenko.

“The recruiting team resolves the matter by signing Jurrien Timber throughout the summer. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwior are further players who can play on the left side. Tierney moved to the loan programme mostly because he was the fourth choice remaining.

“Despite his injuries, someone will take a risk on Tierney. He turns 27 this summer and you can see someone like West Ham, Aston Villa or Newcastle taking a punt. I would be surprised if he leaves for less than £20m.”

It’s part of a blockbuster summer at the Emirates, according to reports. Aaron Ramsdale and Emile Smith-Rowe could go while Tierney’s Sociedad teammate Martin Zubimendi plus Sporting Lisbon goal-machine Viktor Gyokeres are on the incoming list.
