Sky Sports names Ghanaian defender linked with January move to Celtic

Yuki Kobayashi joined the team in January, Liam Scales returned from a season on loan at Aberdeen, and Gus Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki were signed in the summer.

Brendan Rodgers stated last week that he expects the January transfer window to see more players leave than arrive, with 33 players included in the official first team photo.

Ghanaian international Nathaniel Adjei, u-23, is making an impression at Hammarby. As the Swedish season draws to a close, he anticipates a transfer, according to a report from Sky Sports’ Transfer Blog, which went live at 17:10 yesterday.Ghana U23 defender Nathaniel Adjei signs for Swedish side Hammarby Talang FF - GhanaPlus

A number of teams are keeping an eye on Hammarby center-back Nathaniel Adjei, including Rangers and Celtic.

The 21-year-old, who was promoted to the first team by current QPR manager Marti Cifuentes, has had a breakthrough season in Sweden, including his debut in Europe.

While a Rangers representative saw Adjei in person last month, teams in Belgium and Italy are also interested in him.

After the Swedish season ends in the middle of November, Adjei will probably evaluate his options, and a move in January is a possibility outcome.

The Hammarby defender seems to have very similar experience to Lagerbielke who hasn’t had any game time since being sent off away to Feyenoord in the Champions League.

With Liam Scales now established as the preferred partner to Cameron Carter-Vickers and Nawrocki costing Celtic £4.3m during the summer it seems that central defence is already an area of the side that the hoops are very well covered in.
