Only 576 away fans will witness the Premiership champions play, as manager Brendan Rodgers laments the declining number of briefs.
Hearts manager Steven Naismith feels that reducing Celtic’s ticket allocation is the appropriate move because Gorgie’s demand for gamedays is growing.
Premiership winners Brendan Rodgers regrets the declining number of away fans, who were earlier reduced from 3,500 to 1,264 in the Roseburn Stand. Only 576 away supporters will be present. Premiership teams are considering holding a vote on the percentage of tickets that are made available to away fans. It occurs at a time when three of the previous four matches between Celtic and rival Rangers had been attended by no out-of-town fans. The Hearts manager, nevertheless, is keen that teams dress to fit themselves.
“Celtic will have their view, they are going to have their view just like from what we get when we go to away grounds,” Naismith stated in an interview with Sky Sports. In my opinion, the club has gained momentum during the last five or six years as a whole, whether it is due to the new stand, the support the club has received, the foundation, or the fans’ growing influence over the club.
“So gaining more followers is the first step towards realising all that hope. Thus, we must prioritise taking care of our supporters and giving them the chance to help us and share in what may be a prosperous period for the team. Though there are a lot of areas in which Scotland’s game still needs improvement, on a larger, more comprehensive scale, we may observe other leagues’ structures and methods. Currently, all clubs are focusing on themselves, and rightfully so, in order to provide their supporters with the greatest possible viewing experience.”
Furthermore, Naismith acknowledges that he is still at ease about the future of Rangers loanee Alex Lowry, given that new Ibrox manager Philippe Clement has the option to bring up the player who is drawing attention in Gorgie. “As far as his mindset goes, I have no idea because I haven’t asked him,” Naismith said.
“He’s growing, and I’m not too worried about what may happen in the future. It comes included with every loan setup. Every week, there is a chance for every participant to play here. Alex did well when he joined the squad, but he had to wait for his chance.”
