‘Unfair’… Peter Grant says 25-year-old Celtic player is being harshly criticised this season’

As Brendan Rodgers toils to get the team performing to the levels that we saw against teams like Aberdeen and Rangers, the Celtic manager has much to ponder as the race for the title hots up.

Peter Grant, though, has stated that he feels one Celtics player is receiving unfair criticism this year as the criticism goes on.

Grant stated, “That lets me know how important Greg Taylor has been,” on The Go Radio Football Show. And while I am aware that Greg receives a lot of flak, he has performed incredibly well considering the modern game that Ange wants to play and Brendan’s use of the fullbacks to tuck in a bit.

“Because if you have never played that manner before, it’s entirely fresh to you.

However, he is so crucial, and the runs he makes to clear room for others show how much energy he offers to the other players.

“And he also adds the peculiar objective. Whether I believe he’s received a lot of unjust criticism and that he is the solution to everything and good enough in the long run.

However, I believe it demonstrates how crucial it is to the team as a whole, not just to that individual.

Greg Taylor has been excellent for Celtic over the past two seasons. Under Ange, the 25-year-old defender was imperious.

Even if Taylor found it difficult to regain the form that Celtic supporters had enjoyed under Ange, there is no denying the Scotland fullback’s continued significance to the team.

While Alexandro Bernabei did quite well against Hibs in the middle of the week, he has had difficulty replacing Taylor as the head coach of the Hoops. Taylor is a player of far more calibre.

After healing from his most recent injury, the 25-year-old is anticipated to return to the Celtics by next weekend. The supporters of the Houston Rockets will be hoping that he can support Aaron Rodgers’ run for the championship in the 13 games left in this season.
