BREAKING: Sydney van Hooijdonk Agreement#

The manager of Bologna, Thiago Motta, has explained why Sydney van Hooijdonk was unable to attend Saturday’s draw with AC Milan. The son of former Celtic striker Pierre, SVH, has been connected to the team in recent months as Brendan Rodgers’ team searches for offensive line bolsters.

The Bologna manager claimed that the player was absent because of illness, but he acknowledged that the Dutch forward might leave in the final days of the transfer window. TNT claimed that the player was absent because of an impending move to Celtic.

“The most important thing is that he always trains to the maximum; we’ll see if he stays here in the end.”

With 16 appearances, the striker has scored once for the Serie A team. Van Hooijdonk did, however, score 49 goals in 124 appearances in the Netherlands while playing for NAC Breda and SC Heerenveen. Celtic may profit similarly to Giorgos Giakoumakis, who was signed from VVV-Venlo in 2021, with a hit rate like that.

So far, Celtic’s only acquisition during the transfer window is Nicolas Kuhn, who joined from Rapid Vienna. The manager has made it clear that he or she is looking for quality, and thus far that has not been met. The left back and up front are two important positions that need to be filled.

In the last few days of the window, the manager has stated that adding two players to the roster is the plan. Hopefully, there will be some rumours this week, followed by some additions.
