Celtic are on the ‘verge’ of signing Norwich City striker Adam Idah on a permanent basis, according to a report by the Daily Record.
This summer, Norwich City plans to sever their relationship with the attacker permanently as he moves closer to joining Celtic. He was on loan to the Scottish Premiership’s biggest teams for the second half of the previous season, when he scored nine goals in 19 games across all competitions to help them win the Scottish Cup and the championship.
Idah, 23, has since made his way back to Carrow Road, but lately, there has been uncertainty over his future. His deal with the Championship team expires in June 2028.
But according to the Daily Record, he has been granted permission to travel to Glasgow right away in order to finalise a contract with the Hoops and have a medical. This is the most recent information surrounding his circumstances in East Anglia. He appears to have expressed a desire to reunite with Brendan Rodgers’ team recently, and his wish has finally been fulfilled.
Norwich City striker close to Celtic move
Idah was signed by Norwich City from College Corinthians back in 2017.
Two years later, the Republic of Ireland international—who has 26 caps to his name—made his debut in their starting lineup.
Since then, he has appeared in 115 games across all competitions for the Canaries, scoring 17 goals, including seven in the previous season.
When Celtic approached him this past winter, Norwich City gave him the all-clear to go on a temporary basis.
Idah found his shooting boots and instantly became a member of the Hoops.
Permanently getting rid of him would allow the Canaries to make room and money in their ranks for the upcoming season.
They reached the play-offs last season but were beaten at the semi-finals stage by Leeds United, who ended up losing at Wembley to Southampton in the final.
