The January transfer window is fast approaching, and Celtic are unsurprisingly getting linked with a growing number of players. The latest is Romeo Amane.
The 20-year-old currently plays his football with Hacken in Sweden’s top flight.
Football Scotland claims that Amane has been “watched closely” by the Hoops and that following an early assessment of his abilities, he was moved quickly up the shortlist.
In all competitions this year, he assisted on four goals and scored three himself. It’s been reported that Hacken is demanding £3 million for the player, who is also considered for the 2023 European Golden Boy award alongside Odin Holm.
Amane, a midfielder, has played in the “eight” position for the majority of his club appearances since joining in 2022. In the 2023 season, he made 34 appearances for Hacken and participated in every one of their Europa League group matches.
At 5 feet 9 inches tall, Amane is not particularly tall. In addition, his age raises concerns about whether he possesses the qualities Brendan Rodgers is looking for come January.
Supporters want no more projects to be signed, while the Irishman wants players who are ready for the first team to arrive next month. It appears that Amane would undoubtedly fit into that description.
