CELTIC IN ADVANCED TALKS TO SIGN £3M ACE AND WANT MEDICAL DONE THIS WEEKEND

Celtic are now in advanced talks to bring Nicholas Kuhn to Scotland for around £3 million with the Premiership champions hoping that a medical could be on the cards this weekend.

Rapid Vienna director Markus Katzer admitted earlier this week that ‘every player has his price’. And it seems that Nicolas Kuhn’s ‘price’ stands at 3.5 million euros.

HITC Football is aware that The Hoops intend to walk right through the opening that Katzer seemed to have created for Celtic.

The Glasgow giants and Rapid Vienna are currently in an advanced stage of talks. Before completing a deal that could cost them up to £3 million, Celtic also intends to have Kuhn seen this weekend for a medical examination.

Kuhn, 24, has had an outstanding campaign in Austria, scoring three goals and setting up seven more. He was capped by Germany at the youth level. The left-footed right winger will join Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, and Ajax in good time, as fellow wideman Daizen Maeda is leaving for Qatar to play for Japan in the Asian Cup.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers had previously stated that he would look to the transfer market for reinforcements if Celtic’s attacking ranks were weakened over the winter.

In December, Rodgers stated, “Obviously, we have been trying to anticipate the guys who are going away to the Asian Cup over the last few months.” “After that, we would need to take action in the market.”

Given that Maeda is currently sidelined, Celtic’s best option is probably to line up with Kuhn cutting in from the right and Luis Palma doing the opposite on the other flank.

Another option for the Premiership leaders would be to sign a center-forward. HITC has received information indicating that Hearts forward Lawrence Shankland is being considered by Celtic, despite connections to Bojan Miovski, Sydney van Hooijdonk, Szymon Wlodarczyk, and Mathias Kvistgaarden.
