Celtic are reportedly among a number of sides monitoring the situation of frozen-out Nottingham Forest defender Scott McKenna this month.
Brendan Rodgers has been tipped to dip into the January market given the defensive issues he currently has at Celtic Park, and McKenna has emerged as a top target.
The 27-year-old is heading towards the exit door at the City Ground after an alleged bust-up with the Forest owners.
With only six months left on his current deal, McKenna’s opportunity to get paid for his services ends in January.
According to Football Insider, a contract dispute between McKenna’s agent and the club administration, which included Evangelos Marinakis and his son Miltiadis, resulted in the defender being locked out of the Forest team.
And it appears that this has made it possible for Celtic to make a move for the seasoned Scotland international.
He was forced to train apart from his teammates after his last Forest game, a 1-1 draw against Burnley, in mid-September.
Since joining from Aberdeen in 2020, McKenna has made 105 appearances at the City Ground and scored three goals.
