Before the winter window ends, the Hoops are reportedly hoping to select at least two players.
Nicolas Kuhn, who arrived from Rapid Vienna earlier this month, is the only new face that Celtic has added so far this January.
Prior to January, Brendan Rodgers was open about his desire to bolster his team’s calibre as they battled Rangers for the Premiership title.
It appears that despite the slow recruitment process, which has angered Celtic supporters, efforts are still being made to change that.
For Rodgers, a left-back and a forward are the two most important positions.
Based on the’most likely marketplace’, the Daily Mail states that these players are almost certainly from England.
Nat Phillips, a center-back for Liverpool, was the most recent Premier League player on loan at Celtic. Early in January, following his six-month stay in Glasgow, he made his way back to Anfield.
Due to Greg Taylor’s injury, Alexandro Bernabei was forced to start in the weekend’s 1-0 victory over Ross County. By Saturday lunchtime, a new left-back might be in the building for the trip to Aberdeen.
But it most definitely won’t be Owen Beck. Following his first recall by Liverpool, he was loaned back to Dundee.
Son of former Celt Pierre, Sydney van Hooijdonk, has been strongly linked to a loan move from Bologna; however, it is thought that this move is unlikely to happen at this time.
A new contract is currently being negotiated between Celtic and Rocco Vata.
The winger’s contract expires in the summer, and he has been linked to Sampdoria, Bologna, and Como. However, he made his Celtic debut during their cup match against Buckie Thistle.
Though it is believed that talks are still going on, it is unclear if Vata will stay in Glasgow after his current contract expires.
