European giants looking to snap up Celtic star#

Matt O’Riley is reportedly the subject of a 15 million euro offer from Galatasaray.

Even though the Turkish transfer window ends at midnight tonight, there doesn’t seem to be much chance that Celtic will engage in talks to lose a significant player.

Although Brendan Rodgers’ plans won’t be affected by the timing or the suggested fee, other clubs may find it worthwhile to consider the possibility of acquiring around £13.5 million outside of the transfer window.

While many Celtic players have hardly changed from the previous campaign, O’Riley has improved and is now a regular goal scorer in addition to his abundance of assists while controlling the midfield with Callum McGregor.

The Turkish media enjoys speculating about transfers, as Haber Mayden reported last night:

There are just two days remaining in the transfer window, and Galatasaray’s transfer list has a surprising new addition. Matt O’Riley, a Celtics player, was someone Coach Okan Buruk and his scouting team really wanted to have on the team. He told the management that if not now, then definitely at the end of the season, an offer should be made to the Danish player.

One of the names to be tried to bring to the team as soon as possible is Celtic’s star player, who impressed the management with his abilities as a scorer and a playmaker.

With a current market value of about 13 million euros, O’Riley is quickly rising to prominence within Celtic. The 23-year-old midfielder is thought to be the perfect fit for Galatasaray after impressing Premier League teams with his play this season.

O’Riley’s transfer cost a lot of money, but Galatasaray management is expected to try to add the star player to the squad today and on Friday. After the Boey transfer, the management was able to resolve the budgetary issue, so they might take O’Riley’s request for about 15 million euros into consideration.

It doesn’t appear likely that O’Riley will begin the upcoming season as a Celtic, even though he signed a contract extension in September.

The aforementioned story highlights how highly regarded he is, but if Atletico Madrid makes another offer in the summer to pursue their interest that they expressed in January, the Danish midfielder may end up moving to the Spanish capital.
