Ex-Celtic coach identifies ‘unbelievable trait’ in Rangers linked starlet amid extensive plaudits

Rangers midfielder Lennon Miller is expected to receive senior international recognition soon, according to former Celtic coach Stephen Frail.

Despite sustaining a broken patella in November, the Motherwell starlet—who came up through the Fir Park development ranks—has been in outstanding form for Stuart Kettlewell’s team this season.

Miller was included in Billy Stark’s under-19 team, which aims to top their group and qualify for the European Championship finals this summer. Miller is the son of former Aberdeen and Scotland goalscorer Lee. This week, the young Scots join Italy, Georgia, and the Czech Republic in Group 5 for the Elite qualification phase.

After making an impression in the Scottish Premiership this season, particularly against Celtic and Rangers, there has been conjecture over the highly-regarded 17-year-old’s future. Pundits have predicted that the Glasgow duo will make a play for him. This has caused some Motherwell supporters to believe that Miller is headed for the senior Scotland team under Steve Clarke.

Well’ No. 2 Frail praised Miller for maintaining his composure in the face of widespread accolades from fans and commentators, and expressed confidence that this will happen eventually.

“Lennon has been terrific for us this season,” he stated. It is fantastic to have him back, as the injury likely set him back and took some of the edge off of us. His displays of skill against the Rangers, Livingston, and Hearts demonstrate his abilities.

“His humility within the football team is truly remarkable. Despite all of the attention and praise he has received for his brilliance in setting up Blair Spittal in the goal against Celtic—which was undoubtedly directed at him because he practices it daily in training—he remains incredibly composed in the face of it all.
