Exciting:’Huge’ update on Celtic future

Celtic ace Matt O’Riley wants to remain at the club this January amid Premier League interest, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the 23-year-old loves Celtic and is enjoying his football under manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Danish international is expected to draw a lot of interest this summer from England and other countries in Europe, but his primary goal is to help Celtic win the league title in Glasgow.

Football Insider (December 26) reported that West Ham United, a Premier League team, is closely monitoring O’Riley and has dispatched scouts to observe him in action on a regular basis this season.

This season, the Hoops have relied heavily on the central midfielder, who has contributed eight assists and nine goals in 26 games across all competitions.

O’Riley joined Celtic Park in January 2022 from MK Dons for an alleged £1.5 million, and the Hoops will profit handsomely from his sale.

Since his transfer, he has made 98 appearances and scored 17 goals and 24 assists.

Football Insider (December 28) was also informed by sources that the Hoops have prioritised signing a striker and have a three-man January target list.

After defeating Dundee 3-0 on the road on Boxing Day, Celtic is still atop the league. On Saturday, December 30, they take on Rangers and Parkhead.

Additionally, sources reveal that Celtic has a three-man January shopping list.
