With Celtic currently in second place in the Scottish Premiership, struggling on the pitch, a manager who doesn’t seem to be able to consider changing a system that is obviously failing, and a fanbase that knows exactly how we got here and who is to blame, the frustration at the Celtic Board is growing as the season goes south.
Yesterday’s Celtic’s Gathering Storm article on The Celtic Star examined Brendan Rodgers’ involvement in this mess and implied that he wouldn’t stick around if Celtic lost the league; in fact, he had made a promise to the fans on the steps of Celtic Park in June of last year that he would be back there in May to celebrate yet another championship victory. After all, he had just taken over a team that had won three titles.
A man named Bob left a comment on that story, saying that our writer and The Celtic Star as a whole have gone insane. Bob didn’t want to hear that Rodgers was the issue; instead, he wanted to draw attention to the true reason we are in this situation, which is down Lawwell.
The Celtic Star is a website for Celtic fans, and we always value fan feedback and permit anyone to share their opinions as long as they stay within the bounds of what can be published. Since Bob’s response in our comments area received a lot of support, and since many people obviously agree with him, we felt it would be appropriate to publish it as a stand-alone post.

Talk about having short memories—my goodness, are you insane? Take Rodgers off the field? Never mind last summer—he wasn’t adequately supported in January either! He wasn’t THEIR man, and they didn’t choose him for the managerial position, therefore Lawwell & Co. are making a special effort to screw him. Rodgers is being set up to fail in order to hide their ineptitude and to be replaced by another “YES Man” who will follow orders without question!
