the former star of the Celtics, is just not able to get lucky as he suffered yet another devastating injury at Real Sociedad.
Throughout his career, the left-back on loan from Arsenal has never had much luck with injuries and has often spent weeks or months recovering.
The 26-year-old has already dealt with problems with his hip, groyne, and shoulder, but it doesn’t appear that he can ignore the most recent issue with his leg at the present.
Following his recovery from a hamstring injury that held him out of nine Sociedad games in October and November, Tierney was back to playing regularly for the La Liga team.
He participated in every game the La Liga team played in December before announcing in a New Year’s interview that he intended to remain on loan at Sociedad until the end of the campaign.
Although Tierney claimed to have been “very much enjoying” his time in Europe, he will not be in the best of moods right now due to an unlucky hamstring rupture—the same injury that sidelined him earlier in the season.
As per Mark Walker, a freelance reporter for The Scottish Sun, Kieran Tierney sustained a hamstring injury during Real Sociedad’s most recent Copa del Rey quarterfinal victory over Celta Vigo.
Tierney is expected to miss yet another period of time on the sidelines recovering from an injury. It is reported that he hobbled off with the problem just before halftime.
“We’re going to wait for the relevant tests, but it’s clear with Kieran that it’s a rupture in the hamstring,” stated Sociedad’s manager, Imanol Alguacil.
“It’s unfortunate since we also left back Aihen Munoz out, and with the number of games we have left to play, it’s critical to double up in positions. However, I’ve never offered an explanation, and I won’t start now.
It can take weeks or even months for hamstring tears to recover, and some reports indicate that Tierney’s chances of making it to Euro 2024 are now diminished. Scotland squad hopes, it is far too early to make a judgement yet.
Even as he approaches his prime playing years, Tierney’s career has been marred by injuries. For the former Hoops player, history is repeating itself, and if he decides to leave Arsenal in the summer, it won’t help him.
Even if Tierney is talented enough to play for most Premier League teams, it’s likely that clubs won’t want to take a chance on the frequently injured player. And considering that he became famous with Celtic more than eight years ago, it’s truly awful to watch.
