Injury problems reportedly mount up for Celtic with 6 on the sidelines

Just as Celtic close in on getting their strongest players available and back on the pitch, injury problems are reportedly mounting up across the city.

Chris Sutton believes that Brendan Rodgers may soon have his starting eleven back together before a crucial time in the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup, as was mentioned this morning.

During the international break, Reo Hatate had a strong performance, and Callum McGregor is anticipated to return soon as well.

With Kyogo back to full strength and Cameron Carter-Vickers nearing full recovery, Celtic’s trophy-winning core is primed for the big push for hardware.

Celtic and Rangers title race heats up

In contrast, The Daily Record adds that Ridvan Yilmaz is the newest injury concern for Rangers as he limped out of Turkey’s defeat to Hungary with a thigh issue.

The article says that Yilmaz is one of six on the sidelines including Abdallah Sima, Oscar Cortes, Ryan Jack, Kieran Dowell and Danilo – all of whom are said to likely miss their first encounter after the break at least.

Losing Yilmaz would be a major setback for his clubs, as he has made 28 appearances for them this season and is an integral part of Philippe Clement’s plans.

Next week, the Ibrox team will play at home against Hibernian before hosting Celtic. Naturally, the Bhoys go to Livingston before the big derby at Govan.

After winning this season in West Lothian and at Ibrox, if Celtic wins both games they will lead by at least four points before Rangers play their remaining game away to Dundee in the middle of the following week.

In these last weeks, Rodgers’ ability to get his best players on the pitch with few injury concerns may be crucial. particularly if competitors are flagging.
