Interesting journalist announce how much Aberdeen wanted from celtic*

Brendan Rodgers of Celtic signed Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn before to the transfer deadline in January because the team was looking for quality players.

Idah was the player that Celtic favoured above Bojan Miovski in order to increase his alternatives up front as the team sought to add a striker to their roster.

It was thought that Aberdeen would have needed to pay at least £4 million for the North Macedonian international in order for Celtic to acquire Miovski.

However, it appears that Celtic would have needed to provide at least twice that amount. that’s what Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports claims.

Joseph revealed the price that Aberdeen would have demanded from Celtic in exchange for the 24-year-old striker, as opposed to what they would have taken if a team in England or another country made an offer.

Joseph said, “Miovski, an interesting one,” [The Celtic Exchange]. For he is a player that is performing well outside of the Scottish Premiership.

He is more than just a Scottish Premiership player with track record. He has performed both domestically in Europe and internationally.

“And he is a player that is one of the top players in the Scottish Premiership, he clearly is.

However, a Celtic tax exists. There is a Celtic tax if Celtic were to enter the market.

“Aberdeen would have settled on roughly £5m–£6m, if an English Championship team or a club in Europe came in for him, from what I gather.

“You’re talking about £8 million to £9 million if Celtic were to come in.”

That’s quite amazing coming from Aberdeen, but it makes sense. The Dons striker has been outstanding this season, ranking among Scotland’s greatest strikers, and leading a team that is near the bottom of the table.

Given that Celtic apparently desired Miovski during the January transfer window (Football Scotland), it is understandable why interest in the 24-year-old waned if Aberdeen was seeking to pay over £10 million for him.

Even if they wanted to, Celtic would never pay that much for a player who would take a backseat to Kyogo Furuhashi.

In other news, the Parkhead supporters will be infuriated by the latest “Closer to” claim regarding Celtic’s finances.
